[Seoul, Korea – April 12, 2019] Global crypto-asset exchange Upbit today announced that it ranked third globally and first in Korea in the April Market Surveillance Report published by the Blockchain Transparency Institute (BTI), reporting a 24-hour trading volume of approx. USD 436 million during the data-gathering period.
Upbit was also recognized as a verified volume exchange by the BTI. Upbit and 8 other top global exchanges with trustworthy trading volume were designated as part of the institute’s official launch of the BTI Verified program.
BTI has been publishing the Exchange Volumes Report since August 2018, providing the most accurate volume data in the industry. Through their proprietary algorithm, BTI cleans all wash trading from exchanges’ volumes, and has played a major role in promoting trust and transparency in the blockchain and crypto-asset space.
In addition, BTI announced that its verified volume will soon be available on various partner sites. By bringing accurate real-time data to a wider audience, the BTI Verified program is expected to greatly enhance investor trust in the overall cryptocurrency market.
“Creating a trustworthy trading environment has always been a priority for Upbit, so being recognized by the Blockchain Transparency Institute as a verified Volume exchange is incredibly rewarding,” said a spokesperson for Upbit. “We hope to work closely with organizations like BTI to ensure that Upbit users receive the most accurate and reliable trading information possible.”
